For any believer and any person who regularly reads the Bible this verse is a rather obvious piece of advice.
We are told that we should obey God rather than men and this is, of course, excellent advice.
In my experience however I see people who do not take this advice, and if I am honest I have been one of these in the past.
It is too easy sometimes to just take the council and advice of men over a problem or issue rather than seek God.
Quite often we just take our own advice and simply do what we want to do.
Proverbs does not recommend this!
The writer says to trust in the Lord, and acknowledge HIm and take His council and advice so that He can direct the way to proceed (Proverbs 3 v 5 and 6).
The writer tells us not to trust in our own understanding.
God knows better than we do in every situation.
He created us, provides the plan and purpose for our lives and wants only the best for us; of course we should obey HIm rather than men or even ourselves!
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you love me and have a plan and purpose for my life”.
Acts 5 v 29…..Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, we ought to obey God rather than men
