The metaphor of light and dark is used often in the Word of God.
Darkness is a picture of being “lost” and light is the opposite; it speaks of being “saved”.
To be lost is to be without God; to have an eternity without being in His presence.
To be saved is to be assured of that eternity being spent in the presence of the Living Mighty God.
In the light is where you really want to be.
When Jesus stood and was transfigured in front of Peter, James and John, He became as light (Matthew 17 v 1 to 13).
His face shone like the sun and His clothes were like pure white light; that must have been an awesome sight!
Even from millions of miles away the sun is very bright; Jesus must have been brighter than the sun that day.
Light is an awesome and powerful natural force.
Jesus is awesome and mighty and majestic and marvellous; just as He must have looked to Peter, James and John that day.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that Jesus is the light of the world; thank you that in Jesus I am saved”.
John 8 v 12…..Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life
