DIG for Tuesday the 9th of April…..fit for a purpose in the Kingdom? Of course you are, Rahab and Ruth were…..Matthew 1 v 5

At church on Sunday I taught from the account about Rahab in Joshua chapters 2 and 6; here was a woman of faith who was blessed and highly favoured because of her faith, a woman who was used in a mighty way by God.

Rahab helped Joshua take Jericho and move on into the promised land, and she also was in the family line of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1 v 1 to 16).

Rahab played a really important part in the coming of Christ and in the shaping of His Kingdom; God had a plan and purpose for her life.

You also have a part to plan in this Kingdom, God has a plan and purpose for your life.

Please do not read this and think I am not worthy, I have too much sin in my life, I’m just not good enough. Well, neither was Rahab.

Rahab is described as a harlot in a number of verses; this can be translated as fornicator but the word also means prostitute. In her day, Rahab would have been seen as a great sinner.

Yet God saw her faith and used her; God can see your faith, faith in the finished work of Jesus, and He can use you.

You are worthy because of His work and your faith in that, in the same way that Rahab was deemed fit because of her faith.

Ruth, her daughter in law, was a Moabite; she was an idol worshipper, yet her faith brought her into relationship with Boaz and also into the family line of Christ.

If God can use an idol worshipper and a prostitute (in the eyes of the society of the day both great sinners) He can and He will use you.

You are worthy of His plan and purpose for your life because of your faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Find that plan and purpose and move into it; you will be blessed and you will be a blessing.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you have a plan and purpose for my life; help me Lord to move into that plan”.
