DIG for Thursday the 18th of July…..are you being watered enough…..Psalm 1 v 3

A couple of friends were talking about this verse last night as we sat outside enjoying the sunshine and warmth.

I’ve also been chewing it over since then.

This verse is talking about the man who meditates on the Word of God day and night; it is talking about a man who is always thinking about the Word of God (Psalm 1 v 1 and 2).

This man is prosperous in whatever he does; that is what I want and I’m sure it is your desire also.

The Psalmist describes this man as being like a tree near a river.

All trees need water to survive and the closer to water the better.

A tree next to a river has a constant supply of water, with the roots tapping into the water in the ground around the river.

This tree is nourished by the water, and because of this has good leaves that can utilise the sunlight generating food. As a result it yields good fruit.

This process is only successful because of the water from the river.

In a similar way a man can only bear good fruit and be prosperous if he meditates on God’s Word; that is the bottom line form this verse.

Knowledge of Jesus Christ and His finished work through the Word of God is the secret to success (Joshua 1 v 8).

The key to a life of fruit is meditation on the Word of God; considering the truths about Jesus and His finished work and considering them in your heart.

Start the process today; go on, read His Word!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for your Word, and thank you for the truth about Jesus and His finished work”.

Psalm 1 v 3…..And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper
