DIG for Saturday the 1st of March…..He has made provision for our every need…..Psalm 23 v 5

Many people read and are blessed by my DIG on a daily basis, but I am delighted to say that the DIG today was written by one of you, so thank you for your input Zan. I pray that you are all blessed and encouraged today with my “guest DIG”……..

Psalm 23 is such a good picture of what Jesus is and what he has done for us.

Verse 5 especially speaks of His provision when it says He has prepared a table before us in the presence of our enemies.

Why do we need a table of food set before us and in front of our enemies?

Well, I believe that this table is a type and shadow of the cross and the things He has placed on the table is a picture of all that Jesus has bought for us at the cross.

And I believe that “in the presence of my enemies” means all the wiles of the enemy that he throws at us and tempts us with to steal, kill and destroy us.

Notice that this verse comes after ‘though I walk through the shadow of death’ which is an awful time for us to endure but Jesus had made provision for us to overcome our trials by laying out before us His gifts and promises to help us.

The Holy Spirit gives out His gifts to us as we require them whether it is healing , finances,  prosperity, words of knowledge, prophecy etc. and His promises are all written in His word.

It is up to us to put our faith into action and believe that we have the power in us to overcome all our inadequacies because of what He has done for us.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that your Kingdom has come and is working in us and through us”.

DIG for Friday the 28th of February…..hands and feet; what a wonder of creation…..Genesis 1 v 1

I’ve been watching footage on the BBC i-player of actual dissections of a hand and a foot, and it has been absolutely wonderful.

The engineering in these two structures, that we all depend upon, is awesome and simply stunning.

Unlike the program makers who talk about the wonder of evolution, I believe that this shows us the amazing wonder of creation.

The complexity in our hands and feet are wonderful; typing this DIG for example I am using numerous muscles, tendons, bones and nerves, all working together in unity to provide me with great capabilities.

Evolution just does not do it for me; we are too complex, too wonderful, too designed in fact.

Our hands and feet (and our eyes, pancreas and liver for example) all point to a Creator, or to one of the buzz phrase of today, intelligent design.

I don’t really like this term intelligent design, why not just say God?

The Bible is clear in this matter, God, using Jesus as the agent of creation, created everything in the universe and He created us.

All things were created through Jesus (Colossians 1 v 16).

Jesus made the worlds (Hebrews 1 v 2).

Jesus created everything (Genesis 1 v 1).

I agree with Charles Darwin when he said that to think the eye evolved was “absurd in the highest degree”; I do not agree when he went on to say that this “should not be considered subversive of the theory”.

I say that the complex structures that we see in our body, that all require to be fully developed and functional to be of any advantage to us (like the eye, the pancreas, the liver, the brain) point to creation rather than evolution.

We are a wonder of creation, we are the pinnacle of His creation, we are simply awesome.

Look at your hand right now, look at your fingers, flex them, move them, wiggle your thumb; you are looking at the wonder of creation!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for your wonderful creation”.
