DIG for Sunday the 29th of June…..rejoice over you and sing over you…..Zephaniah 3 v 17

We had a wonderful start to our church service this morning with Nunsy singing Zephaniah 3 v 17 over the fellowship.

This is a truly wonderful verse of Scripture telling the people of Israel what was coming under the new covenant, and it is a verse that now speaks to us today.

Our God is of course mighty, He is powerful and strong like a mighty champion and He is in our midst.

Jesus returned to the Father as He ascended and He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell amongst us, and indeed in us if we are saved.

The Word tells us that He will never leave us nor forsake us so He is surely in our midst today.

He is cheerful for us with glee; that is what the Hebrew for rejoice over thee with joy means.

I love this picture, that when God looks at me he is cheerful because of me and He has a mirthful delight (or glee) in His heart.

My friend that is also what He is like when He looks at you.

And He sings over us too!

That is what we read at the end of the verse.

He is not only full of cheer and glee about us but He shouts out in singing while rejoicing over us.

That is amazing!

The Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Father and Creator God sings with glee about you and about me.

That makes me want to get on my knees in adoration and worship; how about you?

Are you feeling rejected tonight?

Well, feel rejected no more my friend, the Lord our God who is on our midst, is gleeful and singing tonight because of what He sees in you!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you rejoice over me with glee and with singing”.

Zephaniah 3 v 17…..The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty, he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy, he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing
