I’ve just had the privilege of sitting through an amazing message from Bob Yandian talking about excellence in ministry.
The phrase “with all your heart” equates to excellence in 1 Samuel 1 v 12 v 34.
When we are in ministry (and we all are to a degree) we should take part with a mindset of excellence.
Talking to a friend about Jesus is ministry, praying for family is ministry, putting out chairs in church is ministry; it is not just the “man out front” who is in ministry.
Whatever we do it should be done with an attitude of excellence.
This attitude of excellence for service comes from being thankful in what The Lord has done for us.
He has done great things for us; thankfulness for what He has done leads to serving with all your heart or excellence.
Jesus has paid for all our sin (1 John 2 v 2) providing healing, wholeness, joy, peace and forgiveness; that is enough to be thankful and want excellence in what we do for Him.
His finish work means we are accepted in the beloved and adopted into His family; yet more reasons to be thankful.
Excellence in ministry is not a work, it is a result of being thankful.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for all that you have done for me through Jesus’ finished work”.
1 Samuel 12 v 24……Only fear The Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you
