DIG for Friday the 24th of October…..do not look back…..Hebrews 11 v 15

Hebrews 11 is the “faith chapter”, where we see accounts of men and women of faith as an example to us.

It was not what they did in faith that drew me this morning however, it was what they did not do, and in particular Sarah and Abraham.

They were promised that they would form a huge nation, with descendants at would outnumber the stars in the sky or sand on the seashore (Hebrews 11 v 11 and 12).

They actually did not live to see this but knew it would happen through faith (Hebrews 11 v 13).

They stayed faithful and did not even think about or look to the past and what they came from.

If they had looked back they might have gone back (Hebrews 11 v 15).

They kept looking forward in hope through faith to the truths that they had not see yet, but knew were coming (Hebrews 11 v 1 to 3).

If they had looked to the land where they had come from this May have tempted them to return and fail in the plan God had for them.

Have you come out of somewhere or something this morning knowing God has a better plan for you?

Has that plan not come to pass yet?

My advice for you is to wait, keep looking forward in faith and hope for that plan and do not look back.

If you do not look back you will not go back; that is the lesson form Hebrews 11 for you this morning.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you have a great plan and purpose for my life, help me to focus on that today”.

Hebrews 11 v 15…..And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had an opportunity to have returned
