DIG for Monday the 9th of March…..there is no need for a man between you and God any more…..Deuteronomy 5 v 5

I hope you all know that the Old Testament is full of references about Jesus; it is also a good section of Scripture to read to see how to not do things today.

We live under the new covenant and not the old covenant.

As I was reading Deuteronomy 5 this morning one such instance stood out to me.

Moses went up and spent time with the Lord and then returned to the people with the words of God in the form of the Ten Commandments.

He stood between man and God and then took the words of God to man.

He stood as a mediator between man and God (see Galatians 3 v 19).

We no longer need this; we do not need a man on earth as mediator between God and us.

Because of the finished work of Jesus He has now become our mediator (1 Timothy 2 v 5).

The Greek for mediator means to be a reconciler, and Jesus has indeed reconciled us to God.

At the cross we were reconciled to God through Jesus (2 Corinthians 5 v 18).

The reconciliation or mediation was completed then so that man could have direct access to God himself without the mediation of a man.

You now have a “direct line” to God yourself; so make a good use of it!

God can also now use His “direct line” to you without going through a man.

Listen and receive what he is saying directly to you this morning.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that through the finished work of Jesus Christ I have been reconciled to you”.

Deuteronomy 5 v 5…..I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to shew you the word of the Lord…..
