Hebrews chapter 11 is what I know as the faith chapter.
We see a lot about faith and I especially like what it says in verse 33; saying that through faith we can obtain promises (Hebrews 11 v 33).
In the Old Testament we see prophecy tell us what Jesus would do, for example He would provide our healing (Isaiah 53 v 5).
We also read many promises from God in the New Testament, for example healing again (1 Peter 2 v 24).
Jesus also promised that He came to bring us life in abundance (John 10 v 10), a truth confirmed in the epistles (2 Corinthians 8 v 9 and 3 John 2).
I could go on and on about the promises God gave to us, but for now healing and abundance is enough.
So, how do we see healing and abundance in our lives?
Is it by works, good deeds and religious performance?
No, it is through faith that we receive these promises (Hebrews 11 v 33 remember).
Faith is knowing, trusting, believing, and understanding that Jesus has done what He needs to do and has already provided this for us in the atonement, in His finished work.
To paraphrase, we have to believe and receive.
If we do not have faith in Jesus and His finished work, faith that He has already provided healing and abundance, we will not see this in our lives.
Remember that as a man thinketh so is he.
What we believe and understand, what we have faith in, really affects our lives.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus and thank you that he has already provided for my healing and my abundance”.
