We often hear about the woman with the issue of blood having great faith, reaching out to Jesus and believing that simply touching the hem of His garment would heal her.
I agree with this, however I think there is more to this account than meets the eye.
At this point in her life she had active faith, believing if she did something involving Jesus she would be healed.
But I don’t think her expression of faith was always at this level.
It looks to me that she came to Jesus as a last resort, so was obviously putting her faith in something else first.
Her faith was in the doctors of the day, a faith that did not meet with success (Luke 8 v 43).
However, when she came to Jesus, as a last resort, Jesus still healed her.
Jesus was not concerned that she came to Him as a last resort; He was only interested in her.
His love, mercy and compassion flowed and He did not comment about what she had put her faith in previously.
You can come to Jesus at any time, you can come to Him of you’ve never met Him before and you can come to Him as a last resort.
Whenever you come He will provide what you need, and He will not turn you away.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for Jesus Christ, and thank you that He loves me unconditionally and is ready and willing to help”.
