DIG for Wednesday the 20th of May…..a logical argument and then a profound deduction…..Romans 3 v 28

At the conference last night the speaker ended by using Romans 3 v 28.

I love this verse, indeed I love the whole passage, as it is a passage of logical argument concluded by a reasoned deduction.

It could almost be mathematics; and I love mathematics!

Paul builds his argument about law and faith throughout the chapter and then delivers his “killer punchline” in verse 28; the punchline that should kill off religion and works based performance.

He concludes (after giving evidence) that we are justified (or deemed righteous and made right) through faith and not through any works of the law.

This is an amazing statement that set shock waves through the religious establishment of the day and still does!

We are made righteous through faith in Jesus and His finished work and nothing else (2 Corinthians 5 v 21).

We first came to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

And we continue in salvation (blessings, healing, wholeness and prosperity) through faith in Jesus Christ.

We received Jesus and all His blessings trough faith and we continue our walk in faith (Colossians 2 v 6).

We never, and I really mean never, receive anything from God via works, performance or religion.

God has already give us everything we need through His grace (Ephesians 1 v 3 and 2 Peter 1 v 3) and we receive it through faith.

Faith and works is what God wants and loves.

Remember that the next time man tries to tell you that you have to work and performance in order to receive from God; and tell them that this is a lie!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus Christ and thank you that because of this I was justified through faith”.

Romans 3 v 28…..Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law
