Driving back from conference today my mind wandered to a book that has been formulating in my head for a number of years now, a book about the fundamental truths of the Christian life.
I taught on this topic once telling the fellowship about what Jesus did for us at the cross, then what did to us at our salvation and finally what we do as a response.
The first things we were taught at school were very basic and fundamental elements that you required in order to learn about anything else (reading, writing and arithmetic).
The plan for my book involves writing about reconciliation, righteousness and renewal.
We have already been Reconciled; God did this for all mankind through the finished work of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5 v 18 and 19).
We were made Righteous at the point of our salvation (2 Corinthians 5 v 21).
We can then get on with the process of mind Renewal for the rest of our life here on earth (Romans 12 v 2).
The basics of our faith are that we have all been reconciled to God, have been made righteous and can change our lives for the better through mind renewal.
Many of us are striving and trying to become more righteous and to improve our lives.
This is not the way to go about things; we are already as righteous as we will ever be.
The way to change our lives is through mind renewal; it is the only way for transformation to occur.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that I have been reconciled and made righteous, and thank you that I can be transformed through mind renewal”.
Romans 12 v 2…..And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God
