DIG for Sunday the 14th of June…..everything is received by grace through faith, yes everything…..Colossians 2 v 6

Let me ask you an easy question this morning; did you have to perform any works for your initial salvation or did you just have faith and believe?

I’m sure you would answer, “Vic, I just had to believe”; and that is the correct answer.

We all know and accept (well, most Christians do) that God wants everyone to come to salvation and be saved (2 Peter 3 v 9) and that there are no works to perform to receive it.

So let me ask you another question now; how do you receive from God once you have been saved?

This question is answered in many different ways, but lots of answers will involve having to live a holy life, involve performing good works and involve religious performance.

This is not true, we receive from God after salvation in exactly the same way as we received our initial salvation.

Ephesians 2 v 8 tells us that we were saved by grace through faith and that it was a gift, and Colossians 2 v 6 tells us to walk in our Christian life the same way we received Jesus, that is by grace through faith.

If you require healing you receive it by grace trough faith.

If you are lacking in anything you can live in abundance by grace through faith.

If you require peace in your life you can see it manifest in your life by grace through faith.

If you require deliverance from any addiction you can be set free by grace through faith.

You do not require to perform, to be good, to deliver good works, to stop sinning even; you require to have faith and receive from His grace.

So much of what is called the Christian life has been turned into a “works based religion” instead of resting in what Jesus has provided through His finished work.

True Christianity is not about stop this and stop that, do this and do that.

The true Christian life is about finding out what Jesus has already done for us, believing it and receiving it.

Healing and wholeness, peace and joy, abundance and prosperity are available for every single one of us as a gift of grace through faith, faith in Jesus and His finished work.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for Jesus and thank you for all that I have received as a gift of grace through faith”.

Colossians 2 v 6…..As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him
