When I started out in the ministry, and especially when I started Moray Grace Fellowship, it used to amaze me that the most opposition I met was from people within the established church.
This should not have surprised me and it doesn’t anymore, now that I know the Word a lot better!
Jesus was persecuted by the religious establishment of His day.
In Acts 4 we see Peter and John being persecuted by the religious establishment of their day.
All through Acts we see Paul being persecuted by the religious establishment that he had removed himself from.
We should not be surprised when we are persecuted by the religious establishment of our day, especially when we teach and preach about Jesus.
Jesus showed love, compassion and mercy and often came against the perceived religious wisdom of the time, Peter and John preached about Jesus, as did Paul.
We need to keep teaching and preaching about Jesus, even if the religious establishment get upset and annoyed.
As we read throughout the Gospels and Acts it is teaching and preaching about Jesus that saw people saved and set free, and was a prelude to signs and wonders; just look through Acts 2 and 3 and see what happened after Peter taught on Jesus and His finished work.
As Paul write to the Corinthians he was determined to know nothing but “Jesus and him crucified”, that is nothing but Jesus and His finished work.
This is what we need to know, and then teach and preach; this is what a needy world needs irrespective of what the religious establishment may say.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for Jesus and for his finished work, help me to speak out this truth with boldness and assurance”.
Acts 4 v 1 and 2…..And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection of the dead
