DIG for Monday the 13th of July…..give with dancing in your heart…..2 Corinthians 9 v 7

This verse is the most common passage I use when taking up the offering in church.

It tells us that we should give into the church, that there is no real option of giving nothing.

The focus of this verse is in the attitude and mind-set that we give.

Firstly we give according to what we want to give, thus ringing the death knell for tithing in the New Covenant church.

We are also not to give in a stingy manner and also not to give because we are having our arms twisted (that sounds like tithing to me).

When we give we are to do cheerful; this word has the picture of dancing with joy.

Yes, when we give, we should do it by dancing down the aisle and out to the offering pot!

Giving into His Kingdom should not be a chore and not be something we do with a heavy heart.

When we are giving into His Kingdom we are not simply parting with money; we are partaking in His economy and living under His spiritual laws.

If we give sparingly we will reap sparingly and vice versa (2 Corinthians 9 v 6).

God loves it when we give with a cheerful heart, He does not love us any more or any less but he does love it when we operate to His spiritual laws.

So, the next time you give at church why not dance out the front and give cheerfully!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that I can partake in your economy and be able to give with a cheerful heart”.

2 Corinthians 9 v 7…..Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver
