Hebrews 11 is what I call the faith chapter. Here we see how important faith is rather than actions, even actions that include good works and religious performance.
Hebrews 11 is full of great people of our faith, and these people are indeed great people of faith.
It was by faith and through faith that they succeeded and moved into the plan and purpose that God ad for them.
Yes, I have to agree that they did many mighty things, great deeds and actions but these always came after faith.
And it was not their actions and great deeds that pleased God; look at Hebrews 11 v 6 if you don’t believe me.
This verse says that it is their faith that pleased God, telling us that it is faith that is important; faith is the key.
This was important for Abraham, Abel, Enoch, Noah, Sarah, Isaac, Joseph, Moses and Rahab.
Do you think it is any different for us today?
No it is not, but we are to have faith in something different.
Under grace and under the New Covenant we are to have faith in Jesus and His finished work.
We are to have faith in His performance and faith that we are made righteous as a gift of grace through faith in Him.
Many stumble at this and try to achieve through their own performance, trust in Jesus and His performance and succeed.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus Christ and thank you that we can have faith in Him and His performance”.
Hebrews 11 v 6…..But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him
