DIG for Sunday the 16th of August…..no condemnation, no damnation…..Romans 8 v 1

Did you know that the phrase “in Christ Jesus” is Paul’s way of saying born again?

So if you have invited Jesus onto your life you will know that you are indeed born again.

What a great chapter Romans 8 is as it states from the outset that there is nothing you can do that puts you at odds with Jesus Christ.

The word condemnation used in verse 1 is a crucial word in the Greek; it actually means damned as well as condemnation.

That is the truth; if you are born again you are not damned.

There is no need to fear hell or satan (yes, small “s”, he is not important).

If you get thoughts that tell you that you are no good and that God does not love you then you know that this is not from God.

Religion constantly tells you that you have to do this or that or you will lose your salvation; what does that tell you about a great deal of religious attitudes?

Paul makes it clear that if you are born again there is no opportunity for damnation, none!

This is not based on your actions but on the prefect act of Jesus and the finished work of the cross.

There is nothing you can do that can separate you from God’s love.

Or would you rather cut out Romans 8, and especially verse 1 from your Bible?

Believe the Bible!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that I am free from condemnation and damnations because of my faith in Jesus and His finished work”.

Romans 8 v 1…..There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit
