I’m sure you are like me and have issues and struggles every now and again, suffering persecution and getting grief from people.
At times like this we need to remember this passage of Scripture and not make the issue or problem personal.
Nearly every problem and issue that we wrestle with involved a person or people.
This verse tells us that when we wrestle we do not do so with flesh and blood (or with people) but with other unseen forces.
To wrestle means to fight and struggle, so we are in a battle, but not with the person or people in front of us but with the forces of the enemy.
We are indeed in a spiritual battle, a battle that the devil knows he has lost, but never the less, a battle that he wants to take to us.
He wants to steal, kill and destroy what we already have from the Lord.
We need to fight (or wrestle) him and his dark forces in order to stay standing (see DIG from yesterday).
The main issue I want to highlight here is that we need to remember whom we are fighting.
We are not fighting our neighbour, work colleague, even family and friends; we are fighting the enemy influencing and using the person we can see in front of us.
That is why I say do not make the issue personal; try not to endeavour to “get back” at the person or attempt to revenge.
If you want to have a go at anyone have a go at the enemy; in other words resist him and submit to the Lord, and in that way you will see the devil flee.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that we can resist the devil and we can submit to you”.
Ephesians 6 v 12…..For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places
