In the book of Hebrews we read that God will not remember the sin and iniquities that we have committed.
This is the fulfilment of what we read in Psalms.
We are so blessed that we live in the time that the Psalmist had said in the prophetic; we live under grace and in the New Covenant.
This is a time for man when their sin is not “getting in the way” with a relationship with God.
Before the cross sin did get in the way, but now that Jesus has dealt with the issue it is not a problem for God anymore.
So why do we let it be a problem?
We (and when I say we, I mean the church) focus on it, drag it up, try to remember it all, confess it, ask for forgiveness for it etc.
We remind others of their sin instead of telling them they are loved by Jesus.
We focus on sin instead of righteousness.
What we should be doing is what God has done; we should be forgetting it and remembering it no more.
I am not saying we should have a licence to sin, but when we do fall we should focus on Jesus and His finished work instead of our sin.
Focus on the Son and not on the sin.
Don’t let sin get in the way with your relationship with God, Jesus paid the price for you to enjoy that relationship.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that Jesus has dealt with all my sin, and thank you that you do not hold any sin against me”.
Hebrews 10 v 17…..And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more
