DIG for Friday the 11th of September…..not tithing doesn’t mean not giving…..2 Corinthians 9 v 7

There seems to be endless debates on social media and in church about tithing and giving.

Many people are like me, believing that tithing is not for the new covenant believer.

When I write or say this many come back and say things like, “well, how will the church run”, “why do you not want to give” or “how can we pay for ministries then”.

When I say we are not to tithe, I am not saying we should not give; I preach that believers should give into the Kingdom.

But people just don’t listen, or are not willing to hear!

Tithing is an old covenant process, but we now live under the new covenant (Romans 6 v 14).

Tithing was done out of necessity under the old covenant.

Notice how in 2 Corinthians 9 v 7 we are told not to give out of necessity.

We are to give but out of a cheerful heart, because we want to give.

Never let it be said that I say we should not give money to the church, to the Kingdom, to ministries; this is something we should be doing but we should be doing it with the right heart.

I say we should not tithe.

Now, if you purpose in your heart to give ten percent of your income to the church that is great, but if you decide five percent or fifteen percent that is great as well.

You decide how much to give and then you give cheerfully, that is the model for giving under the new covenant.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that all I have came form you, and thank you that I can give some of this back into your Kingdom”.

2 Corinthians 9 v 7…..Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver
