DIG for Saturday the 10th 0f October…..don’t let religious persecution slow you down or stop you…..Acts 5 v 16 to 18

In the early church the apostles were very “successful” in terms of healing, delivering and seeing people saved (Acts 5 v 16).

People were healed, people were set free from demonic bondage and great good was being done among the masses.

You would have thought that everyone would have been happy to see such good things on the earth.

But this was not the case; the religious establishment and the legalists did not like what was happening, even though people were being healed and set free (Acts 5 v 17).

The religious establishment even went as far to heavily persecute those under grace, preaching the Gospel (Acts 5 v 18).

Unfortunately the same is happening today.

As soon as you start telling people that God loves them and that they have been forgiven through the blood of Jesus (what the original apostles were doing) you will be persecuted, and the persecution gets worse as you start getting results.

What I want to tell you tonight is not to let this type of persecution stop you.

Keep preaching, teaching and speaking out the message of grace, the one and only Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Keep laying hands on the sick in order to see them healed.

Keep on freeing people from the bondage of the law and legalism.

Do not let legalistic Pharisees and religious Sadducees stop you or even slow you down; keep on doing what you know is right.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus Christ and all that it has done for me”.

Acts 5 v 16 to 18…..There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folk, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one. The high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation, and laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison

DIG for Friday the 9th of October…..you can have peace in this world…..Isaiah 26 v 3

Life today is lived at such a hectic pace and under such pressure that peace is something many people do not have in their lives.

Peace, as written about in Isaiah 26 v 3, is not just the absence of strife, it also include health and well-being.

The Hebrew word “shalom” means so much more than not having stress or pressure.

This verse gives us a model to follow if we feel that we do not have peace at the moment.

It is a simple model and not difficult to understand; we need to trust the Lord and keep our mind on Him.

Yes, it is that easy, it is a very simple model.

In our busy lives today we tend to take our mind away from the Lord and focus on the world and the physical issues about us; we can think carnally instead of spiritually (Romans 8 v 6).

We also tend to trust in our own strength, striving and working to achieve, and deciding which way to go ourselves.

We should be trusting in Him and looking to Him for guidance (Proverbs 3 v 5 and 6).

If we trust in Him and focus on Him we live have more peace in our lives, this is guaranteed, as this is what the Word says.

We will live in more peace if we believe that God wants us to live in health and prosperity and focus on that rather than meditating about pain and our bank accounts.

So trust Him this morning, keep your mind on Him and rest in the “shalom” that will enfold you.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you want us to live in peace in this hectic world, and thank you that you have provided the means for us to live in peace.

Isaiah 26 v 3…..Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee
