DIG for Sunday the 11th of October…..searching for God, looking for God; I know where to find Him…..2 Timothy 3 v 16

I’m listening to a worship song at the moment and just heard the line, “I’m searching for God”, and I thought I know where you can find Him.

As a pastor I am often told, “I am trying to seek God’ or “I’m trying so hard to find God” or I am asked, “how can I hear from God”.

What many people forget, Christians included, is that God is very easy to find, His voice is very easy to hear and we can listen to Him any time we want and choose.

We just need to pick up, open and read the Bible.

Yes, it is that easy!

“No, that’s not what I mean, I want to hear from God” is what I hear when I advise people to read the Bible.

What they are saying is, “I want an experience, I want to feel a Goosebumps”, indeed, “I want anything but having to read the Word”.

The Word of God is not an easy solution or a simple solution, reading the Word is THE solution!

You don’t need to go looking or chasing for anything else.

The Word is inspired from God (2 Timothy 3 v 16), it is able to set you free through knowledge and understanding (John 8 v 32), it gives you knowledge of Jesus that will lead you to life and godliness (2 Peter 1 v 3), it is a more sure word of prophecy (2 Peter 1 v 19 to 21).

The Word of God is an incorruptible seed that if you plant in your heart and take the time and effort to understand WILL produce fruit in your life.

The Word of God is there for you to read, meditate upon, study and rightly divide, available for you to hear from God at any time of your choosing.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for your inspired Word”.

2 Timothy 3 v 16…..All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
