As I said yesterday this verse gives us some of the names for Jesus.
The first one is apt; He is Wonderful.
The Hebrew word for this is “peh-lew” and means a miracle, a marvellous thing or a thing of wonder.
Jesus is indeed all of those.
His birth was miraculous, His life and ministry was miraculous and His death and resurrection was miraculous.
Jesus performed miracles through His ministry, from turning water into wine to raising a number of people from the dead.
Yet there is something far more miraculous for us because of His original mission.
Through faith in Jesus and His finished work we can now have the Living God living inside us through the indwelling Holy Spirit.
We have the power that raised Christ from the dead in us and available to us today.
That is miraculous, that is wonderful.
If you are a born again believer you have the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority to yield that power.
Miracles did not stop with Jesus or with the apostles or the early church; miracles should be part of church today.
In a very real sense the miraculous power of Jesus is alive and well today in us.
We just need to realise this and use that power.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the miraculous finished work of Jesus and thank you for the power indwelling with me”.
