As I wrote yesterday, Joseph was a man clearly in tune with God and a man who lived a life of obedience.
In the DIG we say how he took Mary to be his wife in extreme circumstances after hearing from God.
This was not an isolated experience.
Sometime after Jesus was born the Lord spoke to Joseph in a dream, warning him about the plans of Herod to murder young children (Matthew 2 v 13).
Joseph did what he was told, in fact the way I read it Joseph actually obeyed before the night was over (Matthew 1 v 14).
Joseph stayed there with his family until the Lord told him to return, again in a dream (Matthew 2 v 20 and 21).
So in the Word we have three examples of a man hearing from God in a dream and then obeying immediately and doing exactly what God said.
That is a great example of a man of faith and obedience.
Has God been speaking to you about doing something?
Are you still pondering what to do?
Take my advice, and the advice of the Word through the example of Joseph, and do what God is saying.
Last year God told me to leave my secular job to work more in the ministry, and to many people this seemed crazy.
For once I obeyed (thankfully) and I have been blessed.
Doing what God says works, and I would recommend it to you.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you have a plan and purpose for my life and are speaking to me about it today”.
Matthew 2 v 14…..When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt
