DIG for Tuesday the 5th of January…..what is normal…..3 John 2

I was driving into town this morning and had the thought, “it’s good to get back to normal” (with Christmas and New Year being over).

The thought then came to me, “what is normal for the born again believer?”

Normality is good health and a prosperous life (3 John 2).

Jesus took all our sickness and pain on the cross so that we could live in health and wholeness (1 Peter 2 v 24).

Jesus became poor so that we could be made rich, and the Greek words here do mean as in financial terms (2 Corinthians 8 v 9).

Being sick and being poor should not be the norm for us as believers.

All you need for a good life (and godliness) has already been provided for you by the Lord.

These things are manifested in our lives through knowledge in Jesus (2 Peter 1 v 3).

Because of the finished work of Jesus and through our knowledge and understanding of this we can live a normal life of health and prosperity.

This is the abundant life that Jesus spoke about (John 10 v 10).

He came to give us life in abundance and that includes health and prosperity.

Do not let anyone tell you that the Christian life involves suffering from pain, illness and poverty; that is not what the normal Christian life should be like.

That is not what Jesus died for!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus and thank you that because of this work I can live in health and prosperity”.

3 John 2…..Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth
