In church today, before the message, I spoke of the truth that as believers we can rejoice always and rejoice evermore (Philippians 4 v 4 and 1 Thessalonians 5 v 16).
I hadn’t planned saying this but felt led to preach this before my message, thinking that this would bless someone in the fellowship who needed it.
Well, I needed it!
We all get bad news from time to time, we all get a bit down, we all let things in the natural get to us; I said this in the morning.
And this happened to me in the afternoon.
Eventually (yes, eventually) I remembered what I said this morning and now listening to some worship music and meditating upon His Word I am able to rejoice.
I’ve not forgotten about the situation and I still feel sad, however I am able to rejoice.
Reading His Word reminds us of His truths; truths including that as a born again believer who has trusted in Jesus we have eternal life, and that death is but a door into a whole new life in His presence.
Truths like the fact that Jesus has gone before us to provide us with a mansion in Heaven.
Truths like the fact that Jesus is ready to stand and receive us into Heaven.
The Word is full of truths for us both sides of the grave; He wants us to live an abundant life on earth and He wants us to reside with Him for eternity.
There is plenty to rejoice about even in dark and hard times.
There is plenty to rejoice about if we make the effort to look for it in his Word.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that even in hard and dark times I can rejoice, and I make the decision right now to rejoice”.
Philippians 4 v 4…..Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice
