DIG for Thursday the 11th of February…..there are two types of yoke, once again you choose…..Galatians 5 v 1

The Christian life is full of choices and this is true with regards to the type of yoke we carry.

Galatians 5 v 1 talks about a yoke of bondage; this is talking about law.

Matthew 11 v 29 and 30 talks about an easy yoke; this is talking about grace.

Under law we have to perform religious works and deeds in order to receive from God.

Under grace we have already receive all we need from God as a gift of grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Law is hard, grace is easy, and the two pictures of yokes that we see in the Word describe this for us.

Under law it is hard, in fact it is impossible and that yoke is a burden, which the believer has to carry around all the time, weighing them down.

Under grace it is easy, as there is no performance required; in fact instead of work Jesus says that what is required is rest.

Under law work is required, under grace it is knowledge that is required; Jesus says, “learn of me”.

Grace and law cannot and will not mix, they are the direct opposite of each other and we have to choose which we live under.

In the same way we have to choose which yoke we put ourselves under.

You can choose to put yourself under a yoke of bondage and live through law.

Or, and this is what I suggest, you choose to put yourself under an easy yoke, the yoke of Jesus and live under grace.

It is your choice.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the gift of grace available to use through the finished work of Jesus Christ”.

Galatians 5 v 1…..Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage
