I once heard a pastor say this, “I have some good news and bad news about the money we require for the offering. The good news is that God has provided all the money we need, the bad news is that it is in your pockets”.
Although that was quite funny it was not Biblical.
He actually should have said, “We have good news and good news about the offering. The good news is that God has provided all the money we need, the other good news is that it is in your pockets”.
The good news is that God put in place a spiritual law called sowing and reaping.
The good news is that as we give into the Kingdom we are building up fruit for ourselves (Philippians 4 v 17).
The good news is that we have the opportunity to be cheerful givers, giving unto all good works (2 Corinthians 9 v 7 and 8).
The really good news is that it is good for us to give.
Paul tells us that God will supply all our needs out of His riches in glory as we partake in being partners in the Kingdom (Philippians 4 v 19 and 15).
To partner means to give to a ministry or pastor out of our physical “stuff”, and today that means money.
God does not watch what we give and give us back in return, but if we give we partake in His spiritual law already in place, the law of sowing and reaping.
If we sow into the Kingdom (in this case money), we will reap of the Kingdom.
The good news is that are given the opportunity to give into the Kingdom, I would recommend that you take that opportunity as and when you can.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the law of sowing and reaping and thank you that I can partake of that law right now”.
Philippians 4 v 17…..Not because I desire a gift; but I desire that fruit may abound to your account
