In the majority of human relationships (work, school etc.) acceptance is based upon performance.
We will be accepted in the work environment if we perform well, meet targets and make more money for the company for example.
Sometimes this performance mentality is even witnessed in family relationships.
The only relationship where we can be assured of 100% acceptance, with no strings attached, is with God.
Once saved and in His family (Ephesians 1 v 5) we are given unconditional and complete acceptance from God (Ephesians 1 v 6).
We come into His family, we are loved and we are accepted.
I can say this acceptance is nothing to do with our performance as the verse says that God made us accepted.
It was God’s choice to accept us through grace, because of the finished work of Jesus.
But surely we need to do something to be accepted?
The only thing we needed to do was have faith and believe, and then because of Jesus’ work we were made accepted.
You cannot be more accepted by God through good works, just as you cannot be less accepted because of any sin or unholy actions.
Right now you have unconditional acceptance from God, surely that is good reason to love Him even more.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for your unconditional and complete acceptance”.
