Looking onwards in Ephesians I noticed a couple of verse highlighted, Ephesians 2 v 8 and 9.
Verse 8 is one of the most important sections of Scripture with one of the most amazing truths of the New Covenant.
Paul talks about salvation and says it is given freely, by grace, and is to be received as a gift through faith.
If a gift were a true gift, we would receive it without conditions.
We do not need to do anything to receive gifts on our birthday or at Christmas; we do not need to perform in order to be given a gift.
The same is true of the gift of salvation, given freely by God.
God wants everyone to receive salvation (2 Peter 3 v 9) and has provided for this through the finished work of Jesus Christ.
God has given the gift of His Son already and given Him freely.
Now all men needs to do are receive that gift, and that gift is received through faith (Ephesians 2 v 8).
We cannot work for our salvation; the opportunity for salvation has already had all the required work done by Jesus.
Salvation is a gift, initial salvation and on going salvation in terms of healing and wholeness, peace and abundance.
God is holding out the gift of salvation to all men today.
He is holding out initial salvation to those currently lost.
He is holding out on going salvation to born again believers.
Whatever stage you are in with your walk with the Lord you can receive this free gift today.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that salvation is a free gift and all I have to do is receive it through faith in Jesus”.
Ephesians 2 v 8…..For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God
