DIG for Sunday the 17th of April…..I am the Lord your Physician…..Exodus 15 v 26

I still hear many in the church today saying that the healing spoken about in the Bible is spiritual healing, that physical healings and miracles passed away with the Apostles.

I little understanding of Hebrew and Greek blows this silly doctrine out of the water.

In Exodus 15 v 26 we see the use of the word ‘rapha’ along with ‘Jehovah’ giving us the normal translation of ‘I am the Lord that heals you’ or ‘I am the Lord your Physician’.

Physician is the other name for a doctor, and we all know that we go to the doctor when we are sick and ill.

Doctors (and physicians) help to heal our physical ailments; that is their job or their work.

Jesus said He came to finish the work of his Father, and that included the healing of our physical ailments (John 4 v 34).

In 1 Peter 2 v 24 we read that Jesus provided for our healing through His stripes, through His finished work on the cross.

The Greek word for healing means healing, generally of the physical but sometimes spiritual.

So the normal, or general, or most often type of healing that we see because of the finished work of Jesus is physical healing.

Anyone with a scrap of Greek and Hebrew understanding and any integrity cannot argue that healing is for us today and it is physical healing that we are talking about.

God wants you in health (and prosperity) above all things and He has made the provision for us, now it is up to all of us to receive that healing.

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus and thank you that by His stripes I am healed”.

Exodus 15 v 26…..for I am the Lord that healeth thee
