I was having some ‘me’ time yesterday, reading a book with some music on in the background.
My attention was suddenly taken by one of the lines in the song; “the waves and wind still know His name”.
It reminded me of when Jesus calmed the storm (the waves and wind) while in the boat with the disciples.
This for me is a clear picture that God does not send storms into our lives, why would Jesus stop something from God after all?
The same holds today; God does not send storms into our lives.
And when storms come we have Jesus with us to help calm them.
But Jesus is not in this boat that we call life you may be saying!
Well, actually He is, He is with us through His Spirit living and dwelling within us.
We are endowed with His power and His authority.
Jesus has not changed; He does not send the storms but He can still calm them through you.
With His power and authority you can calm the storms of life, you can speak out and change your situation.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever; He does not send storms into our lives but He can help calm them, if we recognise and use His power and authority.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the example of Jesus calming the storm and thank you that through His Spirit we can allow Him to do the same today”.
