My message in church today was a simple one, that God is good.
This is a truth that too many of us do not understand and do not believe; if we did we would not allow some of the nonsense in our lives that we currently put up with.
Scripture is very clear that God is a good God, that He can only do good and does not change (James 1 v 17).
The Psalmist knew the truth that God is good and only does good (Psalm 119 v 68).
If we know that God was good, we could tell what came from God, as He only sends good things.
We can say that storms are not from God, that sickness and illness is not from God and that poverty is not from God.
When are storms, sickness and poverty ever seen as good?
I would say that there are only two groups of people who would consider storms, sickness and poverty to be good, and they would be lunatics or ‘foolish’ Christians!
God is a good God, pure and simple; at His heart He is loving, merciful and compassionate.
We can see this from the example of Jesus in the Gospels, and as He is the express image of the Father (Hebrews 1 v 3) we can transfer that truth onto God the Father.
God is good and can only do good; that is a truth you need to understand and believe.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you are a good God and only want good for me in my life”.
Psalm 119 v 68…..Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes
