Listening to worship music is often a good inspiration for writing my DIG, and this is true for today.
Listening to a new cd that I downloaded for Nunsy, I was taken by these lyrics; “You are not a tyrant King, You do not delight in suffering”.
This really fits in with what I’ve been preaching and writing about lately, that God is a good God who does not send us illness and storms.
God gets a bad press these days, folk see Him as watching our every move, ready to punish and sort us out at the slightest wrong doing; that image does not make for a good understanding of God and who He really is.
This view of Him does see Him as a tyrant King, getting delight in our suffering.
That is just not true and is the completely wrong picture of Him.
He is a loving God, merciful, compassionate and good; He is just as Jesus is in the Gospels.
Jesus was not a tyrant and Jesus did not delight in anyone suffering.
He was the opposite, always filled with compassion and with a willingness to heal.
As Jesus was, so is the Father; Jesus is the express image of the Father after all (Hebrews 1 v 3).
Do not believe the lies that say God will send you storms, including illness and sickness, to improve you as a Christian.
That is a dangerous doctrine and it is a lie from the enemy.
God is good, always has been good and always will be good; He will not change (James 1 v 17).
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you are a good God and you only have my best interest at heart”.
James 1 v 17…..Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning
