DIG for Thursday the 2nd of June…..press on and push in, especially in the hard times…..Philippians 3 v 14

Nunsy and I climbed up Benrinnes today; when I say climbed I mean that I plodded up very slowly.

At times we thought we’d not make it, the steep path in places was really getting to us.

But we pushed through and made it to the top, to share a well-earned cup of coffee (no café, we had a flask).

As ever when we are out for a walk we ended up talking about Scripture, and this reminded me of a few relevant to this wee story.

We will all find our Christian walk hard at times; Jesus told use we would (not might) face persecution and have to endure times of trouble and stress.

At times like this I’m sure you think like I did sometimes, “what’s the point in this, why carry on?”

Thankfully I pushed through, pressed on and carried on with the Lord, and am very thankful today that I did.

I encourage you to do the same today.

At times this morning I was taking tiny steps, 20 at a time, and then having a rest!

Maybe we need to do this in our Christian walk sometimes, but the main thing is to keep walking forward and upward, pressing in to what the Lord has for us.

At the top today we had an amazing view, across Speyside towards the sea and to the Cairngorms in the other direction; it was truly breath taking.

What the Lord has for you is breath taking and is worth pursuing, no matter how hard it gets at times.

Keep going, keep pressing in, keep walking with the Lord, no matter what the world and the enemy throws at you; I guarantee you that it will be worth it!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you are always with us no matter what we are going through, thank you for your continual love and presence”.

Philippians 3 v 14…..I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus
