DIG for Thursday the 9th of June…..grateful and thankful, that’s what makes a happy man…..1 Thessalonians 5 v 16

I am sitting in the house at the moment and it is very quiet and peaceful, and I am feeling very grateful.

However I feel far more grateful when there is noise in the house, with doors banging, music coming from different rooms, people shouting and others running up and down the stairs!

I say this, as I am very grateful to the Lord for my family.

I am grateful for my wife, my children and my granddaughter, and I just love having them around me.

There always feels a part of me missing when I am sitting in a quiet house on my own.

Even when times are bad, when work was horrendous, when there were problems in church, I always had my home and my family waiting for me.

Of all the things the Lord has given me, it is my family that I am most grateful for.

Whatever is going on in your life there must be something that you can be grateful for and thank the Lord for.

I read somewhere today that happy people are grateful people.

If you want to be happy take some time to focus on what you are grateful for.

If you cannot think of anything surely you can be grateful that you are alive and breathing!

Unlike David, we do not have four thousand priests to give thanks to the Lord every morning and evening (1 Chronicles 23 v 30), but that is something we can do for ourselves.

What do you have to be thankful for this evening?

Speak this out today…..”Thank you lord for all that you have given me and all that you have made me as a gift of grace through faith”.

1 Thessalonians 5 v 16…..Rejoice evermore
