Well the house is noisy again today; with everyone excited about hearing Creflo Dollar preach last night!
I didn’t get along (but I’m going to Glasgow later in the weekend to hear him) but the family were blessed and encouraged by what he said.
And I loved it as they have all been saying, “He just said the same things as you”.
This should not be surprising as if we study the Word and rightly divide the Word we should come up with the same conclusions.
For example we have all been forgiven for all sin because of the shed blood of Jesus (Ephesians 1 v 7 and Colossians 1 v 14).
For example there is a difference between living pre-cross and post-cross.
For example we have been made righteous as a gift of grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus (2 Corinthians 5 v 21).
For example we live under the New Covenant and therefore we are blessed because of Jesus’ work and not our performance.
For example we are supposed to live in abundance with health and prosperity (John 10 v 10 and 3 John 2).
The real surprise should be when people teach anything other than these truths!
The real surprise should be when we are encouraged to drag up our sin, focus on this sin and then ask for forgiveness.
The real surprise should be that we are told to do this and do that, stop this and stop that, and then God will bless us.
As I am writing this I can hear one of my daughters in the kitchen saying, “There was nothing new last night, he didn’t say anything that Dad has not already told us”.
This is not surprising as the Biblical truth is the Biblical truth (no matter what country we live in, no matter what colour we are, no matter how big or small our ministries are) and that is what we should be preaching!
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for your Biblical truths and thank you for teachers and preachers who rightly divide the Word”
