DIG for Friday the 29th of July…..Jesus would be bruised for us; that doesn’t sound too bad…..Isaiah 53 v 10

I don’t know about you but getting a bruise is not that bad really; it can be a wee bit sore but is soon healed.

So when you read that it pleased the Lord to bruise Jesus that may not mean that much to you.

However if you look at the meaning of the Hebrew word in this verse it takes on a whole new significance.

The Hebrews word means to break into pieces, to crush, to destroy, to beat to pieces.

And it pleased the Lord to do this to the body of Jesus in order to make Him an offering for YOUR sin.

How does that make you feel?

It makes me feel loved; loved by God the Father and by Jesus.

The truth that it pleased God to destroy and break into pieces the body of His Son for me is quite a wonderful truth.

And this makes me love God the Father and Jesus even more, God for delivering his Son for me, and Jesus for actually putting Himself through this pain and suffering.

Ponder this truth tonight; ponder and meditate upon the wonderful truth that God the Father was please to pulverise and crush the body of His Son for YOU.

You are worth so much to God the Father and to Jesus.

They value you and love you, which is why they did what they did!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you loved me so much that Jesus came and was made flesh to deal with my sin once and for all”.

Isaiah 53 v 10…..Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand
