DIG for Saturday the 30th of July……a fact is not necessarily the truth…..Ephesians 4 v 24

In this world of ours there is a difference between a fact and a truth; you may think they are similar words with similar meanings but that is not the case.

For example, you may have told a few lies in your time on earth, that is a fact; but it is not a truth that you are a liar (i.e. you do not lie all the time).

If you are born again the truth is that you are a saint.

You may still commit some sin (that is because of an unrenewed mind) and that is a fact.

The truth however remains the same; you are still a saint.

Yes, you may still carry out sin, but that does not make you a sinner.

Facts are defined by your actions (sinning) but truth is defined by your nature (saint).

Too often in this world we as Christians focus on the facts rather than the truths.

Facts are what we see in the physical, what we think and do, but truths are what we see in the spiritual, in the Word of God.

Yes, you may still be sinning every now and again but the Word of God (where truth resides) says you are a saint.

You may still sin (that is a fact) but in your nature (the truth) you were created new, and created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4 v 24).

Spend more time focusing on the truths in the Word of God and less on the facts in the physical world around you and your life will improve.

Speak this out today…..Thank you Lord that I am a saint, thank you that this is my true nature and this is the truth”.

Ephesians 4 v 24…..And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness
