The Gospel of John has always been my favourite Gospel, although the others are wonderful too.
We see wonderful encounters with people throughout the Gospel, with a lot of individuals, encounters that we can learn from.
My favourite verse however comes early in the book; I am talking about John 1 v 17.
When we hear about grace we tend to think of it as a doctrine, or we hear people taking about the grace message.
When we think about truth we think about a concept.
But this verse tells us that grace and truth are a person.
Jesus is grace and Jesus is truth.
Jesus is the personification of the goodness, mercy and compassion of God.
Jesus is the express image of God the Father and brings to us His truth in human form.
Grace is not a doctrine, grace is a person.
Truth is not a concept, truth is a person.
Jesus did not bring grace and truth, in the way that Moses brought the law; Jesus was, and still is, grace and truth.
If you want to know what grace and truth means just look to Jesus.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for Jesus and for His amazing finished work and thank you that He is grace and He is truth”.
