DIG for Saturday the 10th of September…..if thou wilt is not a valid question anymore…..Mark 1 v 40

In this account in Mark of the early ministry of Jesus we see a leper coming to Him for healing.

He begs Jesus, he comes to Him on his knees asking if the Lord will heal him, will make him clean.

It saddened me to think that this is how many believers approach the Lord today.

You may be thinking but this is what happened in the Bible, why is that not for me today?

Well, this account happened under the Old Covenant before Jesus had been crucified and raised from the dead.

At the cross, as well as sin and iniquity, Jesus took our pain, illness, sickness and disease (Isaiah 53 v 4 and 5).

At the cross Jesus provided healing for us all (1 Peter 2 v 24).

The leper, living under law, had to ask for healing, as at that point it was not a ‘done deal’.

Under grace we have already been provided with all the healed we need through the finished work of Jesus and what we do now is claim it.

We claim it instead of asking for it.

You may say but that sounds arrogant, I would say no it sounds Biblical!

Jesus has provided healing for us and He wants us to live a life of health (3 John 2).

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus and thank you for the healing that this provided”.

Mark 1 v 40…..And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean
