As Derek Prince once wrote, “all the evil came on Jesus that all the good might be made available to us”.
We know of course that He took our sin upon Himself, but according to this, and according to what I wrote yesterday, we got something in return.
2 Corinthians 5 v 21 clear up this part of the ‘great exchange’ for us.
Jesus took our sin, in fact was made sin for us, so that we might be made the righteousness of God.
What a wonderful exchange!
I think of the many exchanges that took place on the cross this has to be my favourite.
As our sin was take we were given His righteousness, or rather we were given the opportunity to be made righteous.
If we are in Christ i.e. if we are born again, we were made righteous at our salvation.
Our new man that was created at salvation was created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4 v 24).
The finished work of Jesus made possible to have sin removed and replaced with the righteousness of God.
All it takes for this to happen is for a man to put His faith and trust in Jesus as his Saviour.
It is that simple; our sin removed and replaced by His righteousness.
That is a good exchange, but it is just the first of many.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord or the finished work of Jesus and thank you that I was made righteous as a gift of grace through faith”.
2 Corinthians 5 v 21…..For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him
