DIG for Friday the 16th of September…..He took our sin and gave us something in return…..2 Corinthians 5 v 21

As Derek Prince once wrote, “all the evil came on Jesus that all the good might be made available to us”.

We know of course that He took our sin upon Himself, but according to this, and according to what I wrote yesterday, we got something in return.
2 Corinthians 5 v 21 clear up this part of the ‘great exchange’ for us.
Jesus took our sin, in fact was made sin for us, so that we might be made the righteousness of God.
What a wonderful exchange!
I think of the many exchanges that took place on the cross this has to be my favourite.
As our sin was take we were given His righteousness, or rather we were given the opportunity to be made righteous.
If we are in Christ i.e. if we are born again, we were made righteous at our salvation.
Our new man that was created at salvation was created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4 v 24).
The finished work of Jesus made possible to have sin removed and replaced with the righteousness of God.
All it takes for this to happen is for a man to put His faith and trust in Jesus as his Saviour.
It is that simple; our sin removed and replaced by His righteousness.
That is a good exchange, but it is just the first of many.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord or the finished work of Jesus and thank you that I was made righteous as a gift of grace through faith”.

2 Corinthians 5 v 21…..For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him

DIG for Thursday the 15th of September…..the cross, what a wonderful exchange took place there…..John 19 v 30

What happened on the cross is central to our faith.
The finished work of Jesus Christ is the most important event in human history and requires our full understanding.
I call it His finished work as that is how He described it from the cross (John 19 v 30).
Most believers know that Jesus dealt with our sin at the cross but many do not know about the many exchanges that took place at the cross.
When Jesus died on the cross He did so much for us.
Jesus took our sin and gave us something in return.
He took our pain and sickness and gave us something in return.
He took our poverty and gave us something in return.
He took refection and gave us something in return.
All the things He gave us can be summed up in one expression, abundant life.
Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10 v 10).
Above all things the Lord wants us to live in health and prosperity and this was given to us through the finished work of Jesus (3 John 2).
What happened at the cross is worthy of our study, it is a topic we should fully understand, and this is an area I intend to cover over the next few DIGs.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus and thank you for all the exchanges that took place on the cross”.
John 19 v 30…..When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost
