DIG for Wednesday the 28th of September….be still and know that He is God….Psalm 46 v 10

I’ve been listening to Andrew Wommack this morning giving some great teaching and he said an amazing statement.

He said, “going to church ruined his relationship with the Lord”.

Of course he qualified this statement by saying that it was too much activity that can block spiritual growth, indeed this is what his actual experience was.

We can get so busy, even with very good things and not necessarily with sin, that our relationship with the Lord can become less of a priority to us.

Being too busy “doing good things for the Lord” can make us spend less time with Him.

Even Jesus took time out to spend time with God the Father in prayer, what makes us think that we don’t have to!

We need to spend time with God on a regular basis.

If we are too busy we cannot live out Psalm 46 v 10.

We all need to take time to be still, to sit in prayer and mediation, to sit reading the Word; if we do this we will know He is God.

In order to truly know someone we need to spend time with him or her; the same is true for our relationship with God.

Time with the Lord needs to be a priority in our life; we may even need to stop doing “good” things in order to free up more time.

When did you last sit still for a decent period of time?

When did you last really take an hour or two to focus on the Word of God?

These are questions I will be pondering on this afternoon!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you want our relationship to improve, thank you that you will give me all the time I need”.

Psalm 46 v 10…..Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth
