The Bible is a very consistent ‘document’, saying the same things over and over again.
Take for example how to live a Godly and righteous life; yesterday we saw it was through knowledge of Jesus (2 Peter 1 v 3).
Today we look at another passage that says the same thing.
In order to live a righteous and Godly life we need to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts (Titus 2 v 12).
We need to be taught how to do this according to that verse.
And we are taught how to do this by the grace of God that bringeth salvation and has appeared to all men (Titus 2 v 11).
According to John 1 v 17 this is talking about Jesus.
So by understanding about Jesus, what He has said and what He has done, we can live this type of life discussed in Titus 2 v 12.
We cannot live ‘right’ through being told what to do and what not to do (I’ve already told you that is called law and does not work).
We ‘learn’ how to live ‘right’ through knowledge of Jesus.
There is no other way to move forward in our salvation, other than faith and belief through understanding about Jesus and His finished work.
There are no short cuts and no ‘cheats’ available; what is required is time and effort to understand the Word of God (I say that as this is where we will find the truth about Jesus and His finished work).
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for the finished work of Jesus and thank you for all that I can have through the understanding of this truth”.
Titus 2 v 11 and 12……For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world
