DIG for Saturday the 8th of October…..it all changed at the cross…..John 19 v 30

As Christians we all know that the death and resurrection of Jesus was very important, but what I hear time and time again is that many of us do not understand the significance of this event.

At the cross many things changed.

When Jesus said, “It is finished”, He was not talking about His life.

He was talking about the Old Covenant; he was talking about the barrier of sin that meant man could not relate directly with God, He was talking about judgment for sin.

All over Facebook this last few days we have seen many saying that God is still judging men and nations for their sin.

That cannot be true as that was finished.

Jesus took all judgment for sin and in exchange we received reconciliation and forgiveness.

This allowed us to be saved and made righteous as a gift of grace through faith in Jesus.

Judgment for sin is finished; the Old Covenant is finished.

We now live under grace; we live under the New Covenant (Romans 6 v 14).

God cannot and will not judge men, nations or parts of the world for sins; Jesus has received the judgment for all sin for all men for all time, so that is now finished.

How God deals with the sins of men changed at the cross, please rest assured that He does not send hurricanes or any natural disasters as a judgment for sins.

Speak this out today…..”Thank You Lord for the finished work of Jesus, where Jesus dealt with all sin for all men for all time”.

John 19 v 30…..When Jesus therefore has received the vinegar, he said, It is finished; and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost
