Within minutes of meeting my good friend at conference this morning we were talking about our favourite subject, righteousness.
Every time myself and Dave meet we always get round to this truth, a truth we both recognise as having changed our lives.
It may sound boring to you to go over time and time again something that you know, but for us it is exciting to talk about this truth.
Even when we think we know things of the Bible we can all learn something new or something deeper.
I was sharing with Dave about the revelation a friend had had about our identity in Christ (see DIG from Thursday the 13th of October).
As the identity of Jesus was totally sin on the cross our identity was made totally righteous as a gift of grace through faith; for us, and I hope for you, this is very exciting and worthy of more discussion!
The Word says we should ‘affirm constantly’ the truths of the Gospel (Titus 3 v 8).
Being justified, or made righteous, by faith (and faith alone) is one such truth that needs to be affirmed constantly (Titus 3 v 7 and Romans 3 v 28).
Being around like-minded believers is one of the strengths of being in church and in fellowship with others.
We can help each other to ‘affirm constantly’ that we have been made righteous and are now (and will be forever) acceptable and approved in the eyes of God the Father.
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that right now, and forever, I am righteous, approved and accepted in your eyes”.
Titus 3 v 8…..This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These thing are profitable unto men
