DIG for Tuesday the 1st of November…..God never asks us to do something we cannot do…..Philippians 4 v 4

While in worship this morning I was singing “I will bless the Lord at all times” and my mind was taken to a couple of verses in the Word.

We are told to rejoice always (Philippians 4 v 4).

We are told to give thanks in all things ((1 Thessalonians 5 v 18).

I’m sure we all find it easy to rejoice and give thanks when things are going great; when we are well, when we are living in abundance and when we are happy for example.

But what about when things are not going so well, maybe we could be sick, our family could be sick or we could be in poverty in some area.

Well, according to the Word we should give thanks and rejoice!

Rejoicing always means at all times and under all circumstances.

Giving thank in all things means all the time.

The Lord has asked us to do this so it is possible; He would not ask us if it were not.

Even in hard and difficult times we can rejoice and be thankful for forgiveness and righteousness for example, we can be thankful and rejoice about our salvation.

David delighted himself in the Lord at the worst of times and we can do the same.

We can rejoice under all circumstances ands we can be thankful all the time; the Word asks us to so we can!

Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that I can choose to rejoice and I can choose to be thankful irrespective of what is going on in my life”.

Philippians 4 v 4…..Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, rejoice
