The Bible is not a difficult book to understand; we are often unfortunately given help to misunderstand it.
Take for example the debate I often end up in, is God good all the time or is He not?
My understanding (and experience) is that God is a good God and He is always a good God.
This is what James 1 v 17 seems to be saying.
It stated that good gifts come from the Father and that He does not change, so if He gives good gifts now, He has done so in the past and will do so in the future.
If we tie this in with our DIG yesterday we can say God only does good things for us and to us and does not put evil trials and temptations upon us.
God is good; healing and prosperity is good.
God is not evil; sickness, pain and poverty are evil.
This is not difficult to understand and is basic Biblical truth.
God is good and only wants good for you; as Father God He loves you!
In fact He actually wants the best for you, He wants you (above all things) to live in health and prosperity (3 John 2).
If God did some of the things we claim He does He would be evil.
He does not make us sick, He does not kill our family or us, and He does not send earthquakes, tsunamis and other disasters.
God is good, and that is final!
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord that you are a good God and thank you that you only want the best for me”.
James 1 v 17…..Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning
