I have been thinking about Romans 1 v 21 this evening, seeing this highlighted verse when I opened my Bible earlier.
It reminded me (even though I should not need reminded) about the need to be thankful to God for all that He has done for me.
There are plenty verses telling us that, as believers, we should be thankful to God.
This verse however challenges us and reminds us what could happen if we are not thankful.
If we are not thankful we could tend towards having silly thoughts (or vain imaginations).
Being thankful and thinking of the things that God has done for us keeps our minds from wandering onto things it should not be going to.
Focussing on God and all the good things He has done through Jesus keeps our mind where it should be.
Thinking on others things can lead to our heart becoming hard, or away from the things of God.
This all comes from not being thankful, that is what this verse says.
I have lots to be thankful for, from my forgiveness to my righteousness, from my salvation to my healing and prosperity.
If you have been born again, if you are a Christian, you can be thankful for the same, no matter what else is going on in your life.
Make the choice, make the decision; be thankful to God tonight!
Speak this out today…..”Thank you Lord for all the good things you have done for me through the finished work of Jesus Christ”.
Romans 1 v 21…..Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were they thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened
